Katy Perry is an American singer-songwriter and actress born in California and raised by Christian pastor parents. Katy grew up only listening to gospel music and sang at her loacl church. After her first year in high school she begun pursuing a career in music. In 2007 she signed with Capitol Music Group and in 2008 she released the single "I Kissed a Girl" which became an international hit.
